What is a Fresh 48 session?

This is a relatively new type of session that is coming to be very popular. A lot of parents love birth photography but may feel a bit uncomfortable with being photographed during the actual birth. This is a great alternative as sessions are done during the day with parents and siblings after the baby has been delivered and parents have had a little rest.

What do I get for participating in your casting call?

You will receive my time and talent with a discounted session fee of $300 (Normally $450) You will also receive 15 high resolution digital files via downloadable link.

How long is this session?

Your session will take approximately an hour.

 Where is this session done at?

It is done in a hospital, home or birthing centre. Wherever you are planning to deliver your baby.

 When does the session take place?

This session is done within the first 48 hours of birth.

 What is the difference between a Fresh 48 session and a posed/styled session?

There are no props, no posed newborn shots. This session is all about the arrival of your newborn done in a documentary/lifestyle fashion.

 What is required of me?

I require a signed model release in exchange for my time/talent and files. This will allow me to use images for marketing purposes and for my portfolio. You must also be delivering within the Hamilton area.

 Will you be using flash?

No. I will be shooting during the daylight hours and will be using only natural light.

 How long will it take to see my photos?

It will take 2-3 weeks for delivery.

 What if I want to get a styled newborn session?

Because you are participating in my casting call I will extend a special deal for you. Please inquire.

 I’m having my baby soon what do I need to do?

Let me know you’d like to participate. I will send you a booking form and once a 25% retainer fee is received I will then put you on my calendar and will be on call 24/7 for 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after your estimated due date. You will need to contact me as soon as you are going into labor and then when your baby is born. I will schedule a date and time that I can shoot your session within 48 hours of birth.
